In his State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Cyril Ramaphosa acknowledged the pivotal role agriculture sector plays in the growth of South Africa’s economy. This year, government will introduce regulatory changes that will make it much easier for businesses to participate in the Youth Employment Service programme and create jobs for young people.

Over the past year, the sector has demonstrated resilience in the face of global volatility, tightening margins, and structural constraints. Our agricultural exports reached R268.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025,

I, John Henry Steenhuisen, Minister of Agriculture, acting under section 27 of the Liquor Products Act, 1989 (Act No. 60 of 1989), hereby make known that I intend to publish amendments to above-mentioned regulations published by Government Gazette Notice No. R. 1433 of 29 June 1990, as amended.
